Basic Description:

The Private Pilot’s License Instructor is a critical member of our team, responsible for providing flight and ground instruction to students pursuing a private pilot’s license. The ideal candidate is passionate about aviation, has a deep understanding of flight principles and regulations, and possesses a strong commitment to safety and excellence in training.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Flight Instruction: Conduct hands-on flight training sessions with students, ensuring they grasp essential flying skills and knowledge to operate an aircraft safely.
2. Ground School Training: Deliver classroom instruction covering a wide range of topics, including aerodynamics, navigation, weather, flight regulations, and aircraft systems.
3. Student Evaluation: Regularly assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
4. Safety Advocacy: Ensure all flight operations are conducted in adherence to FAA regulations and company safety policies. Promote a culture of safety among students and colleagues.
5. Aircraft Maintenance Coordination: Ensure aircraft used for training are in good working order. Report any discrepancies or issues to the maintenance team.
6. Stay Updated: Continuously update personal knowledge regarding changes in aviation regulations, training methodologies, and industry best practices.
7. Student Mentorship: Act as a mentor to students, offering guidance, support, and encouragement. Help them navigate challenges and celebrate their achievements.
8. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records for each student. Coordinate with the administrative team regarding scheduling, billing, and other related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a current FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) rating.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings, as required.
  • Commitment to safety and high-quality training.
  • Previous instructional experience is a plus but not mandatory.
